A clinical case of diagnosing incompetence of a uterine scar basedon ultrasound and MRI diagnostics

Abstract

The article presents a clinical case of a 33-year-old patient with a failed uterine suture, which demonstrates the difficulties in diagnosing a failed uterine scar, the effectiveness of various approaches during surgery, and a favorable outcome of pregnancy and childbirth after metroplasty. A comprehensive examination of women with suspected failure of the scar on the uterus after cesarean section includes ultrasound of the pelvic organs, MRI diagnostics, metrosalpingography, hysterosonography, hysteroscopy. However, using only one method, it is impossible to make a correct diagnosis, and invasive ones are associated with risks of anesthesia. This clinical example demonstrates the possibility of making a diagnosis based on 2 methods: ultrasound and MRI diagnostics. Laparoscopic access of surgical intervention for the correction of insolvency of the scar on the uterus is not always effective.
