Urosepsis in the practice of an obstetric-gynecologist
AbstractBackground. Sepsis remains one of the most important clinical problems in the world, causing high morbidity and mortality. Among all forms of sepsis, urosepsis accounts for 31.4%. Urosepsis is a severe infectious and inflammatory process that develops as a result of urogenital pathogenic microflora and its toxins entering the bloodstream, leading to the development of multiple organ dysfunction. At the same time, the generalization of infection is often accompanied by the involvement of the pelvic organs in the inflammatory process, an increased frequency of early surgical delivery and serious complications from the mother and fetus.
Material and methods. The article presents a clinical case of a favorable outcome of pregnancy and childbirth in a female patient with gestational urosepsis and infectious-toxic shock.
Conclusion. Considering the severity of complications of purulent forms of acute pyelonephritis in pregnant women, rapid generalization of the infectious process, timely diagnosis and an interdisciplinary approach to treatment will help reduce the risks of gestational complications, as well as maternal and perinatal mortality.
