Experience in the use of a non-hormonal drug as an alternative to hormone replacement therapy in the management of patients with moderate severity of menopausal syndrome

Abstract

The aim of the study was to study the effectiveness of the “Femo-Klim” drug in the treatment of women with moderate menopausal syndrome in natural postmenopause.

Material and methods. A clinical study was conducted with the participation of 84 postmenopausal patients, who were randomly distributed into the main group (n=44), who received the “Femo-Klim” drug, and a comparison group (n=40), whose patients did not receive therapy. Group 1 patients took the drug “Femo-Klim” 2 tablets 2 times a day for 6 months. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the drug was carried out on the basis of scoring on the Green scale and HADS. The indicators were evaluated in both groups before the start of the study and 3 and 6 months after the start of “Femo-Klim” in group 1, and in group 2 at the first visit and also after 3 and 6 months.

Results. In group 1, treated with “Femo-Klim”, there was a decrease in menopausal symptoms by 64.6% compared with the comparison group (8%). When assessing symptoms after 6 months in group 1 (patients taking “Femo-Klim”), menopausal symptoms were -0.9, while in the comparison group – -0.7, somatic in the group using the drug – -0 .40, and -0.25 in the comparison group, and psycho-emotional symptoms were -0.6 and -0.4, respectively (p<0.05). When assessing the level of anxiety on the HADS scale, after 6 months in group 1, the level of anxiety significantly decreased by 55.6%, while in group 2 there was no statistically significant decrease in the level of anxiety. “Femo-Klim” significantly reduced the severity of moderate menopausal syndrome, significantly reduced the severity of psycho-emotional disorders.

Conclusion. In patients with various symptoms of menopausal syndrome, it is advisable to use the drug “Femo-Klim”.
