Immuno-biochemical features of homeostasis in obese pregnant women

Abstract

The aim of the study was to study the immunobiochemical features of homeostasis in pregnant women with varying degrees of obesity.

Material and methods. 71 pregnant women with obesity were examined. All the examined patients were divided into 3 groups, depending on the body mass index (BMI) and the corresponding degree of obesity. The 1st group included patients with obesity of the I degree (n=32), in the 2nd – with obesity of the II degree (n=20), in the 3rd – pregnant women with obesity of the III degree (n=19).

Results. When comparing the lipid profile of pregnant women with different degrees of obesity, statistically significant differences in concentrations of cholesterol and triglycerides were revealed in pregnant women with obesity of III, I, II degrees. When comparing the indicators of biochemical blood analysis in pregnant women with different degrees of obesity, there were no statistically significant differences between the groups. In all the studied groups, the majority of patients showed a shift in immunoreactivity towards hyporeactivity. The revealed hyperreactivity in pregnant women of groups 1st and 3rd is evidence of immunity tension, which can be explained by possible presence of autoimmune diseases.
