Use of cell technologies in experimental and clinical obstetric practice (literature review)

Abstract

Discussions about the advantages between mesenchymal stromal cells and the products of their secretome have been conducted since the beginning of the XXI century. Many scientists are concerned about the safe use of stem cells due to the presence of foreign genetic material in them and, as a consequence, the risk of oncology. Secretome products, namely exosomes of mesenchymal stromal cells, are deprived of foreign genetic and cellular material, and therefore the potential risk of carcinogenicity, what allows them to be used in obstetric practice to improve the postoperative period and increase the chances for further spontaneous delivery of patients with a scar on the uterus after caesarean section.

Keywords:extracellular microvesicles; exosomes; abdominal delivery; scar on the uterus; spontaneous delivery
