Alternative approaches to clinical management of patients with menopausal disorders

Abstract

Menopause is a period of a woman's life that takes 30-40% of the whole life and is characterized by estrogen deficiency. The menopausal period is characterized by the female body aging being the result of the reproductive system involution. The clinic of menopausal syndrome is very diverse and can manifest itself mono- or poly-symptomatically. Thus, the clinical manifestations of menopausal syndrome have a negative impact on the quality of life of women in general. Often, due to the presence of contraindications to the use of undeniably effective MHT, there is a need to prescribe an equally effective, but safe alternative. Aim of the study. To assess the impact of the preparation «Femoklim» on the quality of life, to study hemostasis indicators (prothrombin index [PTI], fibrinogen and activated partial thromboplastin time [APTT]), lipid profile indicators (cholesterol, high-density lipoproteins [HDL], low-density lipoproteins [LDL], triglycerides), as well as to study the safety of Femoklim taken by women of peri- and postmenopausal periods. A comparative study was conducted with the participation of 81 women with mild to moderate menopausal symptoms. There were 2 groups: women administered the preparation «Femoklim» and without the preparation (average age 51.9±6.4).
