An integrated approach to the treatment of decubital vaginal ulcers

Abstract

The aim of the article is to focus on the problem of trophic lesions of the vagina in pelvic organ prolapse, as well as to evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated approach to the treatment of this pathology.

The main provisions. Pelvic organ prolapse is a prolapse of the anterior or posterior vaginal wall, cervix, uterus or vaginal arch (after hysterectomy). Its prevalence increases with age. Most patients with pelvic organ prolapse do not complain. Treatment of pelvic organ prolapse includes conservative and surgical methods. One of the complications of pelvic organ prolapse is the formation of decubital ulcers. The article describes a clinical case of successful therapy of decubital ulcer in a patient with complete prolapse of the vaginal stump after hysterectomy.

Conclusion. Conservative therapy of pelvic organ prolapse can improve the quality of life of patients. The most effective comprehensive approach in treatment is mechanical correction of prolapse with the help of a pessary, drug treatment in combination with hardware methods of physiotherapy.
