Clinical and anamnestic features of patients with diseases of the cervix and incompetence of the pelvic floor muscles

Abstract

Background. Cervical diseases and pelvic floor muscle failure are common among women of reproductive age. The occurrence cervical disease of and POP has a negative impact on the incidence of women.

Aim. To study anamnestic factors and clinical manifestations of cervical diseases in patients with and without pelvic floor dysfunction.

Material and methods. First (the main) group (n=66), included patients with histologically confirmed diseases of the cervix: leukoplakia (n=38), various cervical dysplasia (n=22), cervical ectopy (n=6) and POP. The second group included women (n=25) with diseases of the cervix: leukoplakia (n=9), various cervical dysplasia (n=13), cervical ectopy (n=2) and chronic cervicitis (n=1), but without POP.

Results. According to the results of study, it was found that the group of patients with cervical diseases and POP, compared with the group of patients with cervical diseases, but without POP, have higher average age, body mass index, frequency of pregnancy and childbirth, somatic and gynecological diseases per 100 studied.

Conclusion. Late reproductive age, high body mass index, a large number of pregnancies and childbirth in anamnesis can be considered unfavorable factors in relation to POP in patients with cervical diseases. They are also characterized by a high frequency of concomitant somatic and gynecological diseases. Patients with POP are more likely to become infected with HPV than patients without POP.
