Topical issue of modern obstetrics: «How to avoid perineal trauma in childbirth?»

Abstract

Background. Perineal trauma during childbirth is still a fairly significant problem in obstetrics. The deterioration of the quality of life of women, as well as the increase in financial costs of health care makes the need for timely prediction and effective prevention of perineal trauma during childbirth relevant today.

The aim of the study is to identify clinical and anamnestic predictors of the development of obstetric perineal trauma.

Material and methods. Prospective randomized trial from September 2020 to November 2021. The study included 100 pregnant women, the observation of whom began from the day of the first visit to the antenatal clinic and throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Conclusion. According to our data, the most significant clinical and anamnestic predictors of obstetric perineal trauma were: high body mass index, chronic inflammatory diseases in the acute stage during pregnancy, violation of vaginal microbiocenosis, gestational diabetes mellitus, excessive weight gain during pregnancy.

Keywords:obstetric perineal trauma; etiology; risk factors for prognosis
