Expert council "Iron-deficiency conditions in pregnant women: new combination -new opportunities"

Abstract

On June 29, 2021, within the framework of the Plenum of the Board of the Russian Society of Obstetricians-Gynecologists (XIV Regional Scientific and Educational Forum "Mother and Child", Moscow, Russian Federation), the expert council on iron-deficiency conditions in pregnant women was held (chaired by the Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Serov V.N., Professor Baranov I.I.; the participants - Professor Shikh E.V., Candidate of Medical Sciences Vinogradova M.A., Professor Zefirova T.P., Doctor of Medical Sciences Fedorova T.A., Professor Pavlovich S.V.).

The expert council was attended by specialists from various fields: hematologists, obstetricians and gynecologists, clinical pharmacologists. Based on the results of the meeting, a resolution reflecting the interdisciplinary expert opinion on various aspects of the problem under discussion was prepared. Also, proposals for resolving the issues were formulated.

During the expert council, the issues of high prevalence of iron deficiency states in women, as well as possible of their timely diagnosis, therapy and possible complications, that are associated with them, were considered.
