Key (defining) aspects of pelvic floor incompetence diagnosis

Abstract

The aim of this work was to represent the clinical case report of a patient with an asymptomatic form of pelvic floor incompetence (PFI), manifested with non-inflammatory vaginal disorder development.

Basic framework. For complete verification of pelvic floor (PF) defects and formation of subsequent patient-specific management tactics, it is necessary to assess its condition by using imaging techniques. Treatment of non-inflammatory diseases without PF architectonics correction will lead to unreasonable use of antibacterial agents and disease recurrences. Closed pudendal cleft is a mechanical obstruction for penetration of infectious agents into vagina, both from outside and from intestine.

Conclusion. This clinical case dictates necessity to verify PF defects using imaging techniques for early and active diagnosis of PFI in asymptomatic women.
