Physical therapy in the treatment of adolescent girls with primary oligomenorrhea

Abstract

Background. In the structure of the general gynecological morbidity of adolescent girls, the proportion of primary oligomenorrhea (PO) reaches 7.7%. Existing treatment methods give a short-term effect, since they cannot consider diverse deviations in ensuring the coordinated work of the reproductive system. The autonomic nervous system disorder is detected in 67% of adolescents with PO occurred 1 year after men-arche. Physiotherapy in girls with a violation of the formation of the menstruation rhythm is clinically effective and helps to maintain reproductive health.

The aim of the study was to support clinically and physiologically the effectiveness of the combined use of remote infitatherapy and galvanization of the collar zone in the treatment of adolescent girls with PO and hypotonic type of the autonomic nervous system disorder.

Material and methods. We examined 56 adolescent girls, aged 14-17, with PO and the autonomic nervous system disorder of hypotonic type. The methods used: diagnosis of the general vegetative tone by the main integral indicators, rheoencephalography (REG) of the vessels of the brain and vertebrobasilar basin prior to and after treatment; electrocardiography (ECG), medical and psychological testing. The results of electroencephalography (EEG) were assessed 2 months prior to and after treatment.

We used the following methods of treatment: personalized remote infitatherapy in combination with galvanization of the collar zone, as well as the neurotropic drugs in combination with the vitamin-mineral complex in a cyclic mode.

Results. The study confirmed the clinical effectiveness of the central regulatory physiotherapy in 77% of cases due to the absence of complaints immediately after treatment; restoration of the regular rhythm of menstruation was also diagnosed 2 months after treatment in 88.2% of patients, and 6 months after the treatment in 91.2% of girls. A new methodology was eveloped for choosing a dose-response component based on the main indicators of the cardiovascular system and the Kerdo autonomic index.

Conclusion. The use of remote infitatherapy together with galvanization of the collar zone in the treatment of adolescent girls with PO and the autonomic nervous system disorder of hypotonic type is clinically effective. The results of the study make it possible to recommend such physiotherapy in adolescent gynecology.
