Integral assessment of the condition of the vaginal microbiota. Diagnosis of opportunistic vaginitis
AbstractMicrobiological diagnostic methods to obtain an integral assessment of the condition of the microbiota (microcenosis) of the vagina and to diagnose opportunistic vaginal infections are presented. Diagnosis is based on a combination of gram-smear microscopy and cultural study of the vaginal discharge, which makes it possible to obtain reliable information about the condition of the vaginal microbiota at the lowest economic cost, to diagnose infections caused by opportunistic microorganisms and offer the most rational regimens of etiotropic treatment when detecting the pathogen in each case. This avoids complications associated with inadequate start-up antibiotic therapy, as well as prevent the development of pregnancy complications (spontaneous miscarriages, premature birth) and complications after surgery.
