Molecular genetic methods as a key-point of monitoring and diagnostics of opportunistic infections including nosocomial among neonatal and ob-gyn patients

Abstract

Research aim is to propose the technology of monitoring and treatment of bacterial infections caused by multiresistant opportunistic pathogens based on molecular genetic methods in perinatal centers.

Material and methods. While preparing this research there was scientific foreign and russian literature review conducted, as well as overview of foreign and Russian multicenter studies.

Results. We have developed the list of the most significant markers based on the specific features of perinatal patients. It might be used as a key-point in the treatment and profilaxis of nosocomial infections caused by multiresistant pathogens. This technology provides DNA-detection in opportunistic pathogens as well as identification of the most common β-lactams' and glycopeptides' resistance markers among newborns and women in real-time PCR. The medical algorithm devoted to the optimization of perinatal patients treatment was made.

Conclusion. The developed technology is aimed to perform the express-identification (up to 2 hours) of the common nosocomial opportunistic pathogens and to detect the most common β-lactams' and glycopeptides' resistance markers among newborns and women. As a result, this technology is supposed to optimize the antibiotic therapy, hygienic measures in particular isolation and therapeutic route of patient.
