Cervical cancer screening

Abstract

Cervical cancer ranks fourth in mortality from cancer among women worldwide, and depends on the Level of economic development of the state. In the USA, Canada, Australia and European countries, it does not exceed 2.2 deaths per 100 thousand women. More than 85% of cervical cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. In Russia, mortality from cervical cancer has not decreased over the past 10 years and amounts to 4.4-7.1 per 100 thousand women. High morbidity also leads to serious economic losses -the average cost of treating a patient with cervical cancer is estimated at 1 million rubles.
