Abstract

Medical abortion with the use of antiprogestins and synthetic analogues of prostaglandins is the most modern and safest method of abortion, which should be performed only in a gynecological hospital with the possibility of emergency surgical care in the period of 9-21 weeks. In accordance with the protocols of the World Health Organization (2012) and the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (RCOG, 2015), it is proposed to use 200 mg of mifepristone and 800 pg of misoprostol vaginally, followed by repeated doses of 400 pg of misoprostol every 3 hours, with a maximum number of doses of 4. According to the recommendations of RCOG (2015) and the World Health Organization (2014), medical abortion using 200 mg of mifepristone and misoprostol 800 mkg followed by repeated doses of 400 mg every 3 hours, while the maximum number of doses is 4, is safe and can be used up to 22 weeks of pregnancy.
