Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Role of cytokine therapy in treatment efficiency improvement
AbstractIn this work investigation of a new drug promising for HPV-associated cervical pathologies treatment caused by high oncogenic HPV types was conducted.
Material and methods. 160 women with high oncogenic HPV types were included in the study. The diagnosis was based on real-time PCR. All women underwent complete physical examination. Patients were divided into 2 subgroups: treatment subgroup (n=36), where combined modality treatment (the new drug and radio wave destruction) was used, and control subgroup (n=24), where only local mono-destruction of LSIL foci after a course of etiotropic treatment was performed.
Results and discussion. Obtained data indicate that effectiveness of combination therapy with the new drug administration was higher in the main subgroup. Clinical implications of cervix inflammation were observed only in case of CIN relapse. In addition, in treatment subgroup a higher frequency of HPV elimination 6 months after initiation of treatment and faster epithelialization of the uterine cervix after destructive treatment was observed.
Conclusion. Results of the data analysis demonstrate effectiveness of the new drug and make it possible to recommend it for inclusion in complex therapy of high oncogenic HPV types and LSIL.
