Vaginal discharge: causes, algorithm of patient management, modern approaches to treatment and their prevention

Abstract

Vaginal discharge is one of the most frequent reasons for a woman to visit a gynecologist. In most cases, the discharge is caused by infection with various pathogens, however, there are a number of non-infectious factors that can cause discomfort, discharge, burning, itching in a woman. The article presents a brief review of these causes and an algorithm for the management of patients with vaginal secretions of an infectious, noninfectious nature and vaginal dysbiosis.
