Modern view on etiology and pathogenesis of pre-malignant conditions and vulvar cancer

Abstract

Vulvar cancer is a relatively rare disease among malignant tumors of female genital organs. Epidemiology of vulvar cancer has not been studied enough in our country. The risk group for its occurrence includes patients with dystrophic processes (lichen sclerosis) and vulvar dystrophy of varying degrees. Our studies have demonstrated key role of estrogen metabolites and viral infection ratio distortion in pathogenesis of dystrophic processes and vulvar cancer.

Keywords:vulvar cancer, lichen sclerosis, vulvar dystrophy
