Pregnancy complications in women with metabolic syndrome

Abstract

In the article pathogenesis of such risk factors for pregnancy complications as obesity, insulin resistance, gestational diabetes mellitus and metabolic syndrome is considered in depth. As a result, severe forms of resistant preeclampsia with early onset (at 22-24 weeks); late forms of preeclampsia (clinically manifested after 34 weeks of gestation); bleeding during pregnancy (premature separation of placenta) and in postpartum period (including massive bleeding); premature pregnancy may develop. Also, obesity is one of the main adverse factors in case of unsuccessful labour induction.
