Possibilities of modern chemotherapy in locally advanced cervical cancer treatment

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, performed with intraarterial and intravenous cytostatics infusion in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer.

Material and methods. Results of treatment of 209 patients with locally advanced cervical cancer were analyzed. All of them underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by radical surgical intervention.

Results. Conditions for radical surgical intervention were achieved in 192 (91.9%) patients. Comparison study analisys of immediate results of neoadjuvant chemotherapy was carried out. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was carried out using intravenous cytostatics infusion, as well as X-ray-angiosurgical drugs administration.
