Estrogen-associated migraine and hormonal contraception

AbstractIn this paper migraine definition, its epidemioLogy, diagnosis and pathogenesis are given. ALso treatment was touched on the topic and preventive services of estrogen-associated migraine are specified. The Latter comprises: proLonged combined hormonaL contraceptives (CGC) intake regime; additionaL estrogens administration during hormone-free intervaL (HFI) of CGC intake or in perimenstruaL period of naturaL menstruaL cycLe; HFI reduction in case of cycLic mode of CGC administration; pure hormonaL contraceptives with desogestreL.
