Tumor-associated markers cancerous ovarian tumors

AbstractThis review is devoted to modern concept of CA125 and HE4 serological markers and their applications in case of ovarian malignancies. Brief description of these markers characteristics and functions is given, their sources from donors and causes of specific and nonspecific changes in their serum levels under physiological conditions and various diseases are also listed. The analysis of data concerning usage of CA125 and HE4 as tools for ovarian cancer laboratory diagnosis was made. ROMA algorithm was described (including CA125 and HE4 levels) and its usage for ovarian cancer diagnosis in women with tumors in lower pelvis.
