AbstractThe article provides information on the current oral contraceptives used by women not only for the purpose of protection from unwanted pregnancy as well as prevention and treatment of a number of gynecological diseases. Provides data about the effectiveness of combined oral contraceptives containing new generation progestogens for the treatment of androgen-dependent skin lesions and to reduce clinical manifestations of premenstrual syndrome. Discusses the problem of choosing a method of contraception in women during lactation. Data is analyzed on the necessity of individual approach to the choice of oral contraceptives in each individual case, primarily tailored to the needs of women in different periods of her life.
