Immuno-correcting therapy in comprehensive treatment of nonspecific bacterial vaginitis

Abstract

Aim of research was to estimate efficiency of nonspecific bacterial vaginitis (NBV) treatment using drug with immunomodulatory action in reproductive age women.

Material and methods. 150 women with NBV aged 18–45 years were examined and treated. 75 women (active treatment group) were treated with vagiferon. Comparison group included 75 patients who were treated with chlorhexidine bigluconate antiseptic.

Results. Effectiveness of antiseptic therapy without immunomodulatory therapy was 72 %. Effectiveness of vagiferon monotherapy was 96 %.

Conclusion. Among patients treated with combination medication with immunomodulator, clinical implications of inflammatory response in the vagina stopped faster, improving general health state. Vagiferon reduce bacterial count, improve vaginal microcenosis at an early date, favor the recovery of colonization resistance without additional eubiotic drugs administration that will optimize the traditional antiseptic therapy.
