Obesity: a risk factor for obstetric and perinatal complications

Abstract

Beginning with the 60-ies of the last century sharp increase in the number of obese people was observed. This type of pathology significantly affects on women life various aspects, especially their reproductive function. Gynecological diseases, including infertility, are also seen much more frequently in group of obese patients. Besides the degree of obesity greatly affects the course of pregnancy, mother and fetus health, and later child health. The main danger of obesity is in its complications, that are listed in this article.
