Pregnancy in women with systemic lupus erythematosus

Abstract

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a systemic autoimmune connective tissue disease which is characterized by the formation of antibodies to host-cells and their components. The frequency of systemic lupus erythematosus pregnancy complications ranges from 46 to 70%. In the article the influence of this pathology on pregnancy and its outcomes, as well as on development of the fetus and newborn is considered. Main results of clinical and immunological examination of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus are also presented.
